Today's Management of ADHD - DVD Series
|
Course Description
|
|
|
The number of children diagnosed with ADHD grew
from 950,000 in 1990 to more than 2.4 million in 1996.
The National Institute of Mental Health estimates that
between three and five percent of U.S. children today
have ADHD—effectively one child in every classroom
in America. As the number of cases has grown, the
options for behavioral and pharmacological treatment
of ADHD have increased as well. Clinicians have
more choices available today than ever before, which
underscores the need for continued awareness and
education in effectively diagnosing and treating ADHD.
“Today's Management of ADHD” was a featured
program at a regional education conference
sponsored by The University of Nebraska Medical
Center's Munroe-Meyer Institute for Genetics and
Rehabilitation in Omaha, Nebraska on April 4-5, 2008.
The presenters were Cynthia R. Ellis, M.D. and Joseph
H. Evans, Ph.D., leading experts in developmental
disorders such as ADHD. Developed using
evidence-based data captured at that conference,
this three-part DVD presentation will examine the
history, diagnosis and growing number of treatment
options being utilized to manage ADHD today.
