Course Description
Interprofessional education (IPE) is increasingly recognized as a means to achieve our nation’s goals for safe, effective, and coordinated health care. Campuses around the country are enhancing the learning environment by bringing interprofessional students from various colleges (medicine, pharmacy, nursing, allied health, public health) ‘to learn with, from, and about each other’ to improve collaboration and quality of care, and to apply team-work, and prevention principles in an interprofessional setting. Ruth Margalit, MD will be joined by a panel of UNMC faculty to review the latest development in IPE around the country and beyond, describe outcome evaluation of these renewed educational efforts, and discuss new IPE initiatives on campus including the new IPE curriculum committee.
